This is how our day started.
Lola trying on Sam's shoes backwards and playing on her new scooter from uncle Johnny.
And then we went shopping...
Lola is completely obsessed with shoes. (One of her first words)
Today we went to the Navy Exchange on base to get some organizer bins. I took Lola around the corner and there we were in the shoe department. "Suz, suz, suz, suz." She was so excited.
She is really ready to start walking but just won't take steps on her own. She's been cruising around the furniture since she was 9 months but still won't let go. She can stand on her own and balance and swing toys around but just won't take a step unless she's holding on to someone or something. You can't trick her into taking a step either. Once you let go of her hand she slowly and very much in control lowers herself down to the ground.
So today we bought her a pair of bright pink Chuck Taylors because she needed some shoes that weren't soft soled. We brought her home, put on her new "Suzs" and she took three steps all on her own. She was having so much fun standing and walking and falling and laugh and looking at her new shoes. Today she's already taken 7 steps in a row...who would have guessed all she needed was a little motivation.

I believe that Converse Chucks are magic shoes!! They've totally helped Hailey with her balance, too! :)

Way to go, Lola! New shoes definitely have the power of changing one's perspective. Keep this in mind for the future... the possibilities are endless when it comes to inspiration relating to shoe purchases. :)

Hurray for Lola!!! I bet she's walked even more steps since you posted this blog! Asher is sort of walking too....he has taken up to 10 steps by himself, but still seems to think he can crawl somewhere faster!! Which I suppose is true since he is still a little wobbly! Our lives are about to change as they become true toddlers! Yikes!
