TODAY IS A BIG DAY!
Lola is 5 Months Old!
(This is Lola's friend Rebecca from church)

&

It is Japan's Boys Day

These carp, known as koi in Japan, are flown to represent each boy in the family. The oldest boy is represented by the largest koi. Boy's Day is now known as Children's day because it's not fair that Boys Day is a national holiday (May 5th) and Girl's Day (March 3rd) isn't.

(The Real McKoi)

On this holiday the children are to honor their parents.

The koi are flown from the middle of April until after May 5th.

These koi are flying over the river in Sasebo.

Today is also my cousin Jeff's 27th Birthday...

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JEFF
